Are you about to become a parent gamer?  Things will never be the same again – but that’s not a bad thing.

Just over a month ago I became a father for the second time.  I have a three-year-old girl who has been my world since before she was born but now my family have been blessed with a little boy to steal some of my attention.

I’ll try to tone down on the sentimental stuff.  Sorry ’bout dat.

I’ve never been as busy as I am now.  From a gaming perspective, I’ve never played so little.  For the first few days after my son was born, I’d jump online for an hour or so each night when everyone had fallen asleep.  Fast forward a month and I’ve given up the controller for just a little bit more sleep.

I’ve sold out.

Here’s the thing, if you’re about to become a parent gamer and wondering about whether you’ll still have time to play on the arrival of your little one… stop wondering.  It isn’t important – you won’t even care when they arrive.

I promise that in the weeks and months to come, your days will be fuller than they’ve ever been before – in a good way.  You’ll wonder what you ever did with the free time you had before, and any free time you have will become that much more valuable.

That’s not to say that your love for video games will die or that you’ll never have another gaming session again, just that your priorities are about to change.  And that’s okay.  Really.

Enjoy being a parent.  It’s the best thing you’ll ever do.
