Meet MintyPi, The Altoid Tin Video Game Emulator

This mintyPi 2.0 is not only appropriately named, it’s also the coolest Raspberry Pi video game emulator I’ve seen in a long time.

Created by intrepid hacker sudomod, the mintyPi 2.0 is the improved version of his original effort, including a more professional 3D printed design, a larger display held up by an integrated hinge, better sound quality, plus built-in Wi-Fi and bluetooth.  The project is powered by Raspbery Pi Zero W.

The mintyPi 2.0 runs RetroPie, like most Raspberry Pi-based emulators, but is capable of running any emulator thanks to the open-source nature of the platform.  As for access to games, well… we’ll let you Google…

Here’s the mintyPi 2.0 in action:

If you want a mintyPi 2.0 of your own, there’s good news: you can have one for just $30!  sudomod is selling the kits on his website, and has shared instructions on how to make your own.

Gaming on the go has never been so fresh.
