Football Manager 2018: 5 Young Premiership Players To Potentially Sign

Football Manager 2018 will provide another opportunity for armchair managers to nurture tyouth of today into stars of tomorrow.

Here are 5 Premiership youngsters to consider.

1. Trent Alexander-Arnold, Liverpool

Trent made seven starts in all competitions last season and looks certain to receive further first team opportunities in this coming season.  Alexander-Arnold to be the regular back-up for Nathaniel Clyne at right-back and with European football returning to Anfield, he can be sure of a game or two.

Trent has previously gone on record to say “until I captain Liverpool I will not be satisfied.”  While the ambition may seem lofty, we may be looking at a future club captain of your Football Manager save.

2. Jonathan Leko, West Brom

Leko is one of 14 Premier League players to have been nominated for the Golden Boy award, which recognises the best young player in Europe over a calendar year – that should tell you something.

The 18-year-old made nine Premier League appearances last season, all as a substitute and his quick, direct football style of play could make him a wonderkid in the future.

3. Daniel Agyei, Burnley

Agyei spent the first half of last season on loan at Coventry where he scored five goals in 20 appearances, a decent haul for a 20-year-old forward in the physical Championship division.

Agyei boasts pace and power, a terrific left foot and is a decent header of the ball.  He could be the all-round centre forward you’ve been looking for.

4. Andreas Pereira, Manchester United

Yes, he plays for one of the world’s most successful football teams, but Pereira is still only 21-years-old.

Pereira spent last season on loan at Granada where he made 37 appearances in the Spanish top flight.  He can play across the midfield, giving managers the flexibility to adapt to the action on the field.

5. Ben Chilwell, Leicester

Chilwell made 12 first-team starts last season and made his Champions League debut.  The defender played with England at the European Under-21 Championship and is a potential future fixture in the senior team.

Having signed a long-term deal with the Foxes last summer, it may take a little persuading to prise Chilwell from Leicester, but he is sure to be a rock in defence for the next decade.

It’s important to remember that these suggestions have been made without having access to Football Manager 2018 or the database.  With that being said, they are all promising young players who are likely to have an impact over the coming 12 months and are certainly worth your consideration.
