Injustice 2 Coming On May 16, 2017

Xbox One X console and controller.

NetherRealm Studios Creative Director Ed Boon has confirmed that the sequel to Injustice: Gods Among Us will be released May 16, 2017.

Injustice received positive reviews across the board and was praised it’s interesting story mode and unique fighting game mechanics, winning over DC fans worldwide.

Ed Boon delivered the good news via a Tweet today:

Injustice 2 will introduce a loot-dropping system, known as the “Gear System”, providing character-specific costume pieces and equipment, thus allowing players to customise their characters’ appearances and upgrade their abilities.

Earlier this week, the official Xbox Live Rewards website had a listing noting that Injustice 2 would arrive in March, which Boon rejected.

Playable characters will include the returning Superman, Batman, Aquaman, Flash, and Wonder Woman, with the addition of Atrocitus, Gorilla Grodd, Supergirl, Blue Beetle and Deadshot.
