Konami Is Being Sued By A Sporting Legend

Troubled developer, Konami, could be looking at taking a dent to their finances as a legend in the world of sport has confirmed his intention to sue.

Argentine football/soccer legend Diego Maradona has taken to Facebook to confirm that he plans to take legal action against Konami for using his likeness in Pro Evolution Soccer 2017 without his permission.

The post, published in Spanish, Italian and English, states the following:

“I heard yesterday that the Japanese company Konami uses my image for its game PES 2017. Unfortunately, my lawyer Matias Morla will initiate the corresponding legal actions. I hope this is not another scam…”

The post was accompanied by the following image, which carries a reasonable resemblance to the World Cup and Goal of the Century winner. Maradona’s lawyer, Matias Morla, took to Twitter to confirm their intent to sue:

Konami has yet to confirm or deny the accusations, but it is expected that the issue will be resolved away from the court room.
