Super Mario Run Makes $14 Million In Three Days

Super Mario Run has already broken App Store download records and has made Nintendo $14 million in its first three days, according to analytics firm App Annie.

Nintendo’s latest hit has free content to entice players in, and while only 4% of Super Mario Runs 37 million players have spent a penny, over 1 million players have paid $10 to unlock the full game.

App Annie has analysed the data and say that the game has earned Nintendo an incredible $14 million between 15th December and 17th December, and it is anticipated that Super Mario Run will make over $70 million in its first month.

App Annie has published their findings and provided a breakdown:

This analysis shows that the United States account for 55% of the revenue generated with £8 million, despite only accounting for less than a third of the downloads.

With the success of Pokemon Go and now Super Mario Run, it’s safe to say that Nintendos venture into mobile gaming is proving fruitful and lucrative at this early stage, but it will be interesting to see whether the high price tag of $10 will continue to convert casual gamers into paying customers once the hype has died down.

Super Mario Run is available on iOS, with an Android version expected in 2017. I’m not holding my breath for a Blackberry version, though.
