Take-Two Discusses Bringing Rockstar Games To The Nintendo Switch

Take-Two Interactive, the owners of Rockstar and other developers, have discussed the impending release of Nintendo Switch in their quarterly earnings call.

During the Q&A session, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick was asked whether we might see other established brands appearing on the Switch.

Take-Two has already announced their plan to bring NBA 2K18 to Nintendo’s new portable home console.

Zelnick expressed the company’s excitement at the impending launch of the Nintendo Switch, before adding: “We’ve said we’re supporting the platform. We’re supporting Switch with NBA 2K18. I’ve said over and over again that when Nintendo comes to market you never want to count them out. So, we’re excited about it.”

While much will depend on the power of the Nintendo Switch, it may be possible that the Switch could receive a version of Grand Theft Auto V of a similar level to the Xbox 360 and PS3 editions.  While Microsoft and Sony are striving for 4K visuals and experiences to rival their PC competition, the ability to take GTA V on the go could be enough to convince more players to pick up Nintendo’s incoming console.

The Nintendo Switch will launch on March 3, 2017.
