Welcome Back, Lara Croft

Square Enix has announced a new Tomb Raider title for 2018.

Its been a fantastic decade for Tomb Raider fans. After what was arguably the most disastrous year in Tomb Raider History, 2003, which saw both the sixth main instalment as well as the second movie become commercial failures, the Tomb Raider series has been revived over the years back to glory starting with the 2006 game, Tomb Raider: Legend, then once again with a new reboot in 2013. Now, Square Enix has announced a brand new title as part of the rebooted trilogy.

“Square Enix is excited to share some big news with you next year. Honestly, we wish we could share it with you right now, but we’re taking a new approach this time.

A new Tomb Raider game is coming.

Driven by our goal of putting our fans first, we want you to know that it won’t be very long between the official reveal and when you can play.

Our journey together will begin with a major event in 2018. We simply can’t wait to take you on Lara Croft’s defining adventure.”

Square Enix stopped short of announcing platforms, setting, etc; but it can be a safe bet it will appear on both Xbox One and PlayStation; although in the recent years the Tomb Raider Series has been heavily favoring Xbox as a timed platform.
